Wall-E: This is an animation sci-fi comedy adventure. Wall-E is a robot left on Earth for 100’s of years, since the planet became uninhabitable. He just goes on cleaning the planet, as he was designed to do. When a search robot named Eve arrives, his whole reason for existing changes.
Bugsy: Bugsy Siegel a mobster from New York is sent to California on mob business. Once there he falls in love with Virginia Hill. On a trip to Nevada he has a vision of a casino in the desert, and bringing the Hollywood stars there. He gets the mob to support the project but the budget goes wildly out of control. With Virginia skimming mob money from the project, Bugsy finds himself in a very difficult situation.
Bulletproof: A racial inversion of 48 Hours without the reclaiming craft. Covert cop Wayans teams up with Sandler, the crook he’s trying to bust. Their large sums of cash and aspirations are magnified, often acrimoniously-by a sinister medication kingpin/automobile trader played by a pitiful Hauncy Caan. A once awesome cinematographer Dickerson wastes his ability shooting this movie. Cast includes Adam Sandler, Damon Wayans, James Caan, Kristen Wilson, James Farentino, Bill Nunn, and Jeep Swenson. (85 minutes, 1996)
Hopscotch: Cast includes Amusing contrivance in reference to a maverick CIA operative who’s tired of with his idiotic manager Beatty and plans to instruct him a lecture by broadcasting his unstable recollections. The movie is hardly believable, however fun to watch. From the novel by Brian Garfield, who co-produced and co-scripted the film. Cast includes Walter Matthau, Glenda Jackson, Sam Waterston, Ned Beatty, and Herbert Lo. (104 minutes, 1980)
The Great Race: Long, occasionally ludicrous, often labored comedy, not the best ever made as promoted. Fight pattern and barroom fight are highlights, although the pie quarrel falls flat, other gimmicks don’t work. This is absolutely a mixed box, albeit Natalie looked much better than she did in “The Darling Shrub.” Cast includes Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, Peter Falk, Keenan Wynn, Larry Storch, and George Macready. The Adolescent: Alluring rendering of Somerset Maugham’s novel Theatre, and the play of the identical title he inscribed with Gentleman Bolton.
