Nowadays, there are more people that are ditching their landline telephones in favour of their T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Cell Phones. Some do it because they most often use their cell telephone to communicate. Others do it as it saves them money, by taking advantage of great plans from companies like Verizon and Sprint Cell Phones. It may be the in thing, but it is something that shouldn’t be treated trivially. Is having a cell phonephone really the best way of communication? Is it a brilliant idea to restrict yourself with that and lose the landline phone?
For some, it may be a good idea. For others, it could be a different story. These are some ways you can establish whether your cell phone can replace your landline phone, or if you still need both :
1. Landline telephones will work wherever you utilize them. Even if you have a metal roof on your place, you will still be ready to dial out. More than likely, you will not get a signal using a cell phone. Metal and cell telephones don’t work well together and just about everytime you try and use it, you’ll get a signal interference. You would go away from the house in order to get a signal.
2. Receiving less telemarketing calls on your cell telephone is a blessing. Thanks to the FCC ( Fed. Communications Commission ), telemarketers aren’t allowed to leave automated messages on cell telephones without authorization from the owner of the telephone. If you make a decision to ditch your landline for a cell phonephone, you will not endure many marketing calls to your T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Cell Phones.
3. There are some areas in which your cell telephone will not work because there’s only so much coverage. Even in some of the major areas there are dead spots where the phone won’t get a signal. The signals can always get blocked and you cannot always rely on getting a signal in a major metropolitan area.
4. If there is thunder and lightning in your neighborhood, landline telephones are not the best communication devices to use. It is awfully dangerous and folk have been rubbed out because the landline telephones are wired. The hurricanes can hit the wire and you could be affected. Using a cell telephone in a hurricane is better because there isn’t any direct connection between the lighting and the phonephone.
Depending on your phonephone wants you have to decide whether or not you need to just have a cell telephone, a landline, or both. You also have to take into consideration if you have a family that includes children. In that case, you may want to have both options. It’s simpler to say that you wish to economize by losing one. However, there may be a time when you want both of them. You have got to weigh it out and see what the best answer is.
